The Elora Festival’s return to live concerts will open with J.S. Bach’s monumental Mass in B minor, a work compiled and created by the master composer near the end of life, and drawing on music and life experiences from his rich and long career. The utter joy of the Gloria, the heavenly sounds of the Sanctus and the tranquility of the Dona nobis pacem make this masterpiece the perfect way to return to live performance!

Voice of the Weaver is a five-movement concerto for bass clarinet and chamber choir by the Halifax based composer Peter Anthony Togni and Mary Louise Martin, a Mi’kmaw artist, poet and writer from Millbrook First Nations in Nova Scotia.

The twilight concert, music for the end of day, became an Elora Festival tradition in 2019. Still, contemplative, and performed in candlelight, you don’t want to miss the beautiful experience of hearing The Elora Singers in a program of Renaissance motets and modern masterpieces.

TorQ and the Elora Singers joined forces to commission three new works for percussion quartet and choir, composed by some of North America’s leading diverse voices, Carmen Braden, Melody McKiver and Leila Adu-Gilmore. The composers bring unique voices to this project, and were meaningfully chosen due to their relationship with nature and its influence in their artform.

At the heart of our closing program, is a recent The Elora Singers commission, On Love, by Tim Corlis, and American composer Jake Runestad’s moving The Hope of Loving.
