Kate Wright is delighted to be singing in her 12th season with the Elora Singers. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Western University, and a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, where she specialized in Arts in the Community. After completing her teaching degree, Kate taught K-8 elementary music, including Orff, ukulele, guitar, and band. Kate is passionate about introducing choral singing to young people, and for 12 years she conducted 3 choirs in the Oakville Choir for Children & Youth. In 2023, she founded the Elora Children's Choir, and continues to sing professionally with the St John’s Elora Parish Choir. As a registered Music Together instructor and early childhood music specialist, she has taught music classes for children aged birth to 5 years (and their grownups!) throughout the GTA. Kate teaches with the Upper Grand District School Board, and lives in Fergus. Outside of singing and teaching, Kate is mom to Sam (8) and Maggie (5), enjoys reading mystery novels, and playing Old-Time music with her partner, Ben.
